Tentative launch date is set

I really think that I have beaten RoomyCar to death at this point - all bugs are done (I hope - found a nasty one this afternoon). I also adjusted some color issues. Not much else to do at this point.

Have to add - admin pages (in particular, pages for news stories) -
also, have to check on all textarea data entry fields, do a validation
check etc...

circles

I have to make the circles small - or maybe use stars - need to have
smaller stars.

Fixed up a few things

I have removed all the second dark screen border from entry pages.
I need to remove the send message into a separate web page, instead
of an Ajax action.

Browser incompatibilities are fixed

This time for certain - all of that is fixed... Even the Mozilla 3.02 beta.

Browser incompatibilities

One major browser incompatibility is solved - on home page,

the way multiple embedded DIVs deal with a float-left style.

The problem with older browsers, and Safari is solved.  One more

incompatibility remains with Mozilla 3.02 beta - when viewing

more then one jquery tab, tabs don't lay out properly.

reshuffled some stuff

I moved the content Mates from the tab, to a "My Roomy Car" - it just made sense to move it there. Hard to explain why, but it made sense. Also fixed up some spelling in the disclaimer, and expanded on the "About me" section.

maxlength

Added MaxLength to all fields.

Graphics are coming along

I am still unsure about the size of the icons to use for RoomyCar - Caty has come up with some
good ideas...

Editables are in place

After much work (and one night going to bed at almost 3am),
RoomyCar's "editables" are done. You can now change everything
except your email address. Who would have thought, that pre-setting
struts values would be so tough. Caty has accepted her assignment,
and she is working on the graphics.

FAQ

Currently working on the FAQ - also, all Ajax submit validations are done.
Contacted a graphic artist in Singapore about doing some illustrations for me.

Kicking out of the Car Pool

Kicking yourself out of the Car Pool works fine now. If there are only two people in the pool, the other person's PoolId will be removed also, and the reference to the Pool itself (it's entity) will be removed from the database.

Change Password is working

Change password is now working. It was easier then I thought, I got stumped by the Transaction type (Hibernate), but now all is ok. Also, I fixed up the alignment of freeform text in Internet Explorer. It will look good.

News and Franchise

It would seem that there is a possibility of offering a customized
Car Pooling engine. This is actually very simple. I will simply be
making the destination "fixed" to the destination of the franchisee.
There will be one more database table to accomodate that - and
a separate table for news stories.

It's coming along nicely...

First Entry

I am starting this blog in order to communicate my ideas about software development, as well as to receive any idea features from users of RoomyCar Car Pooling site.

I started this web application, in order to exercise my "noodle", as well, as to try to encourage people to start Car Pooling, in order to reduce the total amount of greenhouse gases emitted by all of us. Keep an eye on this space for features, release date, web site etc. If you do have any ideas to make Car Pooling easier and better, please do let me know.
